The Gift of Grief and Loss – Courageous Care
This is a story, my story, but I feel it can only have value if I can bring to the world the purpose of this story.
I have always attempted to look at life as a means to grow as an individual from the experiences that are presented to me. That does not mean that the issues of loss disappear with our growth and that we are fully free of the past.
What it does mean is that we can embrace our life circumstances and look at the possibilities that these experiences give us and learn to understand ourselves better. My experiences and the experiences of my family illustrated to us how our community struggles with death, and through fear of dying struggles to embrace what dying can offer us and the Grace that can come with this deep learning experience.

Puzzle Pieces of Life
Puzzle Pieces of Life is just that – giving people the opportunity to understand some pieces within themselves, that until now did not make sense. Engaging people to ponder on the parts within themselves that are confusing, or that they have tried to bury as a means of trying to get on with their lives. Yet faltering and stumbling thinking this is how life is, when it doesn’t have to be. Getting to know themselves better leads to a flourishing within their being that is liberating.
I am an Integrative chiropractor who has been in practice for over 50 years. I am a passionate practitioner who is earnest about life’s journeys and keen to guide humanity to its potential holistically. We live such desperate and often confused lives filled with more questions than answers. Being able to help guide people – whether physically, emotionally and/or spiritually gives me great joy as I witness people emerging from a place of unknowing to a state of allowing different perspectives emerge within themselves which then brings meaning to their lives in ways that they never thought possible nor were they aware that such possibilities existed. When people start to discover some part of themselves that was buried deep within them, when they can utilise and allow that part of themselves to begin to flourish, that leads to a richness in their lives, then there is sure to be a shift not only in their lives but in the lives of the people around them. That is a wonder that is truly beautiful to behold! It is humbling as well as exciting.
On Silver Wings
When Dr. Gunta Krumins-Caldwell’s family was confronted with terminal illness, she was thrust into unfamiliar territory. She and her husband Ed were only in their mid 40’s with two small children to rear and a newly established medical laboratory when Ed was diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease. Although they saw coping with a terminal illness as an opportunity for themselves, their families and their friends to grow and learn together, they discovered that those close to them found their changed circumstances extremely challenging. With such a confronting disease, many people were unable to relate to them in a way that felt caring and supportive. Everyone¹s mortality was questioned. On Silver Wings is a poignant account of a family dealing with a terminal illness. The experiences of Ed Gunta and their two children are laid bare as readers discover within themselves the capacity to embrace their fellow beings in extremely difficult circumstances. Dr. Gunta Krumins-Caldwell is a lifelong resident of Melbourne, Australia. She has been practising chiropractic for over 50 years and now works as a holistic practitioner using various modalities that help her treat patients emotionally, physically and spiritually.
